Bible Study Thoughts

I just got out of bible study... now let me share with you what the pastor taught us.
THINGS TO REMEMBER TO HAVE A BETTER RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD:

1. I am as close to Gos as I choose to be.*we are the only one who can determine how close we are to God.James 4:8- Come near to God and He will come near to you...*the key is with us.
2.I must quit lying to God and be totally honest and open with Him.*what's the use of lying when God knows what is truly in your heart.*if you're doubting Him, tell Him strait and ask forgiveness.*God knows what's in your mind before you even think about it.

3.I must choose to do what God wants rather than what I want.John 15:14- "You are my friends if you do what I command."*choose to obey God, not yourself.*no matter how painful it will be, trust that it will lead somewhere that will make you a better Christian.

4.I must have confidence that God will do all that He says He will do for me.James 2:23-And the scripture was fulfilled that says, "Abraham believed God, and it was credited to Him as righteousness," and He was called God's friend.*Abraham's wife, Sarah, was too old to bear a child but because God promised Abraham, she had a child.

5.I must protect my relationship with God because the world will try to pull us apart.Matthew 24:24-25= "For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and miracles, to deceive even the elect(Christians)- if that were possible. See that I have told you ahead of time.*the enemy will do EVERYTHING to take away your faith in the Lord.*beware of deceivers... they can do good things but will turn out to be bad.
